In this entry I show how I tore the books up and made my own workbooks….

Update: June 2015 After completing (and passing) the pre-licensing course at Superior School of Real Estate, I learned that the way the school success numbers are calculated somewhat different than what you might think.

There are a lot of paths taken to be one of the people who arrive to take the state exam for the first time.

From my personal class experience, conversations with people after the in-class test and general observations…around 2 or 3 out of 10 people passed the in-class test the first time. So this is the first “group” of people qualified to take the state test for the first time.

Some of the people who passed this class actually had taken the class before (which means this is the third time they take the in-class test)-this would be the second “group” of people qualified to take the state test for the first time.

The third “group” of people are those that take the in-class test the second time (you’re allowed to retake the in-class test once per 75-hour session). Those that pass would be qualified to take the state test for the first time.

And while I referred to people who had taken the class before, taken 2 in-class test and failed, repeated the 75 hour session, taken and passed….there are those who fail yet again and re-take the 75-hour class, take the in-class exam…etc…etc….

Some local stories I heard have shared some who took the in-class test for the seventh…yes seventh time … that’s three 75 hour session classes….before they passed…..and this group would be counted as taking the state exam for the first time….

Summary….suggesting that your success will improve at any given school based on the state reported 1st time passing rate is meaningless marketing…..

If the individual schools published their in-class success rate, the number of times attempted and the passing rate of the state test …. then the numbers would be meaningful….don’t hold your breath though…..

Bottom line….pick a school that satisfies three measures: cost, location, course offering and any supplemental “free” school developed test questions that you can review before taking that school’s in-class test…

On the day of the in-class test…it’s the individual school’s test you are taking….focus on that and I believe your success will follow….

Working through the 75 hour per-licensing course…6 days of 10 completed … that’s 48 hours of the 75 completed…

I’m in Final Test Preparation Mode now …

preparing myself by getting control of all this information by separating out the most useful parts….

So yes….I did it….

I went to Office Depot and had them cut the binder off the books so I could create my own “Workbook” of the sections I need.

For me, it’s all about the Final Class Test and NC State Test.

All of my effort is focused on creating easy to use – easy to reference – review books to study from in the 11th hour….
